Mimosa flowers, st. john’s wort leaf + flower + rose petals infused into organic apple cider vinegar, organic cane alcohol + local mountain honey
An elixir for supporting feelings of abundance, mental balance + a full heart. This is a formula which celebrates some of summer’s most joyful medicines, bottling them in the height of season to bring feelings of spontaneous flourishing to leaner days.
Plant medicines are particularly adept at supporting subtle shifts in emotional wellness + a reframed perspective. They are effective remedies for sadness, depression + seasonal affective disorder.
We are so excited to offer st. john’s wort, harvested at peak flourish on the summer solstice. The brilliant sundrop-yellow flowers + small leaves filled with translucent dots of thinner cells which literally let sunshine through (thus the Latin name, Hypericum perforatum) are a dramatic embodiment of the doctrine of signatures, or the idea that how a plant looks or behaves is an indication of its medicinal offerings. St john’s wort is filled with hypericin + hyperforin, plant chemicals which are significantly effective on mood + emotional distress. Hypericin increases the metabolism of serotonin + melatonin within your body, two compounds which increase your body’s ability to receive + store light + its healing properties (letting the sunshine through!).
Mimosa blossoms are the flowers of a tree native to China, known in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as literally “full happiness flowers.” These puffy pink flowers look like tiny, radiant feather dusters. We harvested these flowers from our neighbor’s tree in a cloud of hummingbirds, alternately chasing one another + sipping nectar. Mimosa flowers are another powerful mood mover + stress releaser: uplifting, stabilizing + joyful.
Rose petals are a pure heart medicine, steadying + grounding. Roses are particularly connected to the heart since they are astringent, meaning they tighten + tone tissues, warming your heart.
**st john’s wort can make some folks more photosensitive. Additionally, this tincture should not be taken concurrently with pharmaceutical antidepressants**
